A third club could get involved to help contracted Cat Esava Ratugolea fulfill his Port Adelaide business wish.

The Power offered Geelong Pick 33 – Port’s first draft selection after trading the Pick 8 in the Jason Horne-Francis mega four-way swap – for Ratugolea.

Ratugolea manager Scott Lucas of Phoenix Management Group said the Power were keen to bring the big cat to the club and add him to an experienced Port backline.

“Pick 33 is where it is right now. Geelong would love more, Port Adelaide doesn’t have much more at the moment that is of value to Geelong,” Lucas said.

But, as it stands, the Bulldogs won’t return the Pick 39 and want the Lions to add later draft picks to the Pick 21 and future first already on the table.

The Bulldogs’ board has reportedly approved the club to send Dunkley, a premiership player and the Dogs’ best and fairest winner in 2022, to the preseason draft if no satisfactory deal is presented.

However, Fremantle have the Bulldogs trying to trade for Rory Lobb, with Pick 21 potentially the selection that could unlock the Lobb deal.

The Dockers want a first-round pick for losing Lobb, while the Bulldogs have produced offers involving a second-round pick and trades, such as Pick 30 and a future second in exchange for Lobb and a late pick.

And if the Dockers acquire Pick 21, that selection could play a role in a trade with Hawthorn for Jaeger O’Meara, who is reportedly set to leave Hawthorn and has chosen between joining the Giants or the Dockers.
