Be in the room where it’s happening
Imagine a history-loving high school freshman who is hypercritical of that new musical that had just come out a year before about one of the founding fathers and complains about all the historical inaccuracies.
Fast forward to 2020, when said music debuts on Disney Plus.
This newly graduated high school had just had its perspective changed.
It’s been a long time coming, needless to say. When I arrived in Hamilton, there was no way I would see him in person…until there was.
Tickets went on sale at the end of November for the individual show, and I was surprised by my mother at Christmas with two tickets for April 16 at 8:00 p.m.
We had a hotel reservation and everything.
So Saturday came and dragged, and we finally left for the hotel at 4:30 to eat and stuff before going down to the show.
It was a fancy arts-themed hotel with a pale yellow bedroom, which was actually quite soothing.
We ate and walked down and across the street to the Fox, where we were greeted by a crowd led by none other than a lifelong acquaintance of mine, which was a real treat.
Overall my experience was something I never thought or imagined.
Needless to say I will return if and when I can.
