Which cruises were canceled in 2022?
Unfortunately, there are still cruises canceled in 2022 due to Covid-19.
The pandemic is not over and some crossings have been canceled due to too many cases of Covid-19 on board. The good news is, there aren’t the massive cancellations we’ve seen in 2020.
The Omicron variant added a new level of complexity, as the more easily transmissible mutation resulted in a higher number of cases among passengers and crew.
Cruise lines are still continuing with scheduled crossings, but several cruise lines have canceled crossings if necessary.
Here is a list of ships and crossings canceled in 2022 due to Covid-19.
Royal Caribbean
On January 7, Royal Caribbean canceled crossings on 4 ships, “due to current COVID circumstances around the world.”
The exact reason for the cancellation of the cruises is unclear, although many believe too many crew members have tested positive for Covid-19.
Vision of the Seas return to cruise postponed until March 7, 2022
Departures from Serenade of the Seas from January 8 to March 5, returning after the dry dock on April 26, 2022
Jewel of the Seas crossings from January 9 to February 12, returning February 20, 2022
Departures from the Symphony of the Seas from January 8 to 22, returning January 29, 2022
Among these ships, Vision of the Seas had not yet resumed navigation with passengers.
On January 5, Royal Caribbean canceled the January 6 cruise on Spectrum of the Seas from Hong Kong.
There was no real case of Covid on board. Instead, nine passengers from the previous crossing who took off on January 2 have been identified as close contact with a person who tested positive ashore in Hong Kong.
Norwegian Cruise Line
On January 5, NCL announced it would cancel cruises on 8 ships due to “ongoing travel restrictions.”

Norwegian Sky cruises with boarding dates until February 25, 2022 inclusive
Pride of America Cruises with boarding dates until February 26, 2022 inclusive
Norwegian Jade Cruises with boarding dates until March 3, 2022 inclusive
Norwegian Star cruises with boarding dates until March 19, 2022 inclusive
Norwegian Sun cruises with boarding dates until April 19, 2022 inclusive
Norwegian Spirit cruises with boarding dates until April 23, 2022 inclusive
Oceania Cruises
Oceania Cruises has canceled all marina crossings for January and February that were to depart from South America.
Oceania said the move was due to “onerous and prohibitive travel restrictions” in Argentina linked to COVID-19.
Regent of the Seven Seas
Regent Seven Seas Cruises said on Jan.4 that it would not operate a 120-day round-the-world cruise on the 700-passenger Seven Seas Mariner that was due to start in San Francisco on Wednesday.
