West Seattle Blog… | COUNTDOWN: Participate in the 2022 loop of the ‘Lupe’
The sun is out, the sky is clearing, yes, summer is really approaching. So it’s a great day to jump in the 5K obstacle course and more Buckle the ‘Lupe:
IT’S TIME TO ENTER THE LOOP: Race director Brian Callanan has a friendly reminder about signing up for Buckle the ‘Lupethe annual Our Lady of Guadalupe 5K Obstacle Course, which takes place June 4 at Walt Hundley Playfield. You can register up until race day, but with ordering t-shirts TODAY, participants are encouraged to register as soon as possible!
The Loop, now in its sixth year, will feature its four traditional events: 5K Obstacle Course, 5K Run/Walk, Youth Dash (1K, children 8 and under with parental supervision) and Senior Saunter (a flat, 20-minute timed walk). There are prizes from Avalon Glassworks, City Sweats, RowHouse, Peel & Press, and more for top finishers and best costume/team name. New this year: all participants will receive a participation medal (see right) along with their technical race t-shirts.
The first event for the Loop kicks off at 11 a.m. on 6/4, and attendees are invited to stay for live music from the West Seattle School of Rock, BBQ, and beer garden (21+) sponsored by Georgetown Brewing. Go here to register!
