We continue weekly updates on local COVID numbers via the Public Health – Seattle/King County dashboard:

*14% fewer cases across the county last week than the week before
* Currently averaging 472 new daily cases countywide (up from 542 a week ago)

*30% fewer hospitalizations across the county last week than the week before
* Currently averaging 11 new hospitalizations per day (compared to 16 a week ago)

*18% more deaths across the county in the last two weeks than the previous two weeks (dashboard does not offer a one-week increment)
* Currently averaging 3 deaths per day (same as last week’s two-week average)

For West Seattle, we have two-week comparisons (the combined totals of two “health report areas”, called West Seattle and Delridge, together comprising the entire peninsula):
*385 cases between 01/08 and 15/08, compared to 530 between 17/07 and 31/07
*8 hospitalizations between 1/8 and 15/8, against 10 between 17/7 and 31/7
*3 deaths between 01/08 and 15/08, same number between 17/07 and 31/07

VACCINATION: Verification of vaccination rates:
*82.3% of all King County residents have completed the initial series (up 0.2% from a week ago)
* 86.7% of all King County residents ages 5 and older have completed the initial series (unchanged for a week)
* 52.2% of all King County residents had the initial set plus a booster (up 0.2% from a week ago)

*In West Seattle, here are the vaccination rates by zip code for ages 5 and up (reminder, 98106 and 98146 are not entirely in WS):
98106 – 89% completed the initial set (unchanged from the previous week), 56.3% had a recall (up 0.1%)
98116 – 93.9% completed the initial set (up 0.1% from the previous week), 68.5% had a booster (up 0.2%)
98126 – 84.6% completed the initial series (unchanged from the previous week), 58.4% had a recall (+0.2%)
98136 – 94.6% completed the initial series (unchanged from a week earlier), 71.6% had a recall (+0.1%)
98146 – 83.8% completed the initial series (unchanged from the previous week), 50.6% had a recall (+ 0.2%)
