Reports of an agreement in principle date back to last week. However, they all came with a caveat of minor details that needed to be sorted out. Romano now claims the full deal has been agreed.
The report that potentially carries more weight comes from French outlet RMC Sport. They report that Ekitike agreed to the move.

Reims president Jean-Pierre Caillot recently said that Ekitike’s move to Newcastle is in the player’s hands. After January’s disappointment when the move fell apart on deadline day, there was no guarantee he would join this summer.
However, it seems that everything is now settled between the two clubs and the player. Hugo Ekitike will be Eddie Howe’s first signing this summer with an announcement likely imminent.
