The Newcastle United Blog | Midfielder hints again at summer exit as he applauds ‘This great club’
Isaac Hayden has taken to Twitter again with hints that his time on Tyneside may be coming to an end. The midfielder endured a tough campaign and was dropped from the 25-man squad in January as he required knee surgery.
Speculation has been ongoing that the 27-year-old will be one of the Magpies to make way this summer. Eddie Howe has a tough job to do to whittle the squad down for essential new recruits.
After the euphoric events of a week ago in St. James’ Park, Isaac posted the following message.
Which football club??, the future is bright and it will be a pleasure to watch it in any capacity?? #NUFC https://t.co/nCsBprllxD

His reference to “regardless of ability” hints at a possible summer release. Hayden added to that sentiment with another veiled reference this morning.
Another season over. Started poorly, ended on?. To resume ? the future is bright for this great club. Personally my toughest in professional football, but everything happens for a reason. Thank you for your incredible support this season and over the past 6 years #nufc @NUFC pic.twitter.com/Xvu8D9buZ2

Hayden has only made 14 appearances this season, only 4 of them under Eddie Howe. He proclaimed this season to be the toughest of his career.
If this is the end of it, Hayden has been an outstanding servant for the past six seasons. He made 171 appearances while becoming a leader in the dressing room.
Eddie Howe recently admitted that some beloved players will be let go this summer. Hayden could be one of them. Matt Ritchie made an appearance yesterday in what many believe will be his last game for Newcastle.
Although the future is bright, it will also be an emotional time as some of the players who took us out of the league leave the club. They endured difficult times but their professionalism and perseverance made this future possible.
Should Newcastle take an option and sign Matt Targett for £15m this summer?
