Stupid Team = Stupid Penalties

October 28, 2022

Bad discipline.

For a team that has won 29 games in 2020 and 2021 combined with a guy like Tom Brady leading the offense, it’s hard to call the Bucs a dumb team.

But man, they sure act like that sometimes.

Currently, the Bucs are No. 7 in average penalties per game. You wouldn’t have guessed it tonight.

The Bucs were trying to get closer to 24-20 with Baltimore last night with about five minutes left in the game. The Bucs got to the Baltimore-6 and on third down, here’s the yellow handkerchief on Donovan Smith for holding.

Step back 10 meters.

On the next play, the Bucs handed the ball to the Baltimore-3 when Bucs quarterback Tom Brady connected with Julio Jones. On fourth and three of three, Playoff Lenny was caught off guard with a false start. The Bucs then had to settle for a field goal.

It’s plays like that that seem to have plagued the Bucs when they get to the red zone. Do you remember the game delay against the Packers when the Bucs went to two to try to send the game to overtime?

Exasperating!

The Bucs will never get over the hump and win the division (Wild card??? Ha!) if they keep puking on themselves in the red zone.

This is a direct reflection on the failure of Bucs offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich. He has to get these guys to be more disciplined. But he can’t because he doesn’t know how. Otherwise this shit wouldn’t go on like this.
