Return of Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue: Updates and ADR
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue returns to Walt Disney World this summer! The dinner show will soon be back at Pioneer Hall, and ahead of that, Advance Dining Reservations have been released along with more information about the changes to the beloved family entertainment.
Let’s start with the changes, which Walt Disney World posted in an update with quotes from members of the live entertainment and creative teams. “I remember when I first walked out on the Pioneer Hall stage as Six Bits Slocum and saw how much our guests enjoyed the show,” said Tom Vazzana, now Creative Director. from Disney Live Entertainment.
“Over the years I’ve seen the show grow with our guests and when we return, we hope the guests will see themselves truly reflected on stage and in our performances.” Guests come from all over for the fun jokes, great food, and tons of fun, but they keep coming back for the tradition and to share this beloved experience with new generations.
This summer, Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue will return with a new sound and lighting system and some updates to its storyline and sets, all while staying true to the experience customers know and love.
No details were given, but presumably there were some minor rewrites and background changes to remove some lines of questionable dialogue, music and imagery in line with what Walt Disney World has done elsewhere over the years. last two years.
“We had the unique opportunity to really watch this show and take it to the next level for everyone involved,” said David Moore, stage manager. “From switching the stage lighting to LED – which is better for the environment – to upgrading the audio for better sound quality, every little update leads to a better overall experience for our guests and our actors.”
“Our guests and cast are like family,” Moore said. “It’s great to see guests celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and holidays year after year. You get to know friends, couples and families. You meet their children and grandchildren. Just seeing at how much this show means to our cast and guests is an amazing experience and I love being a part of that magic.
“I’m so proud to work with an incredible team who have taken the time to make this enduring legacy what it is today, especially during Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration,” Vazzana said. “And I can’t wait to see the public expression when that curtain rises and the Pioneer Hall Players once again burst onto the stage with the same fun family entertainment we’ve brought them all these years.”
Pioneer Hall players and cast members can’t wait to welcome guests back to this beloved frontier-style family fun experience and all-you-can-eat feast!
Getting down to business, Advance Meal Reservations (ADR) are now available for Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue via DisneyWorld.com and My Disney Experience for dinner shows beginning June 23, 2022.
These currently run until July 25, which is the normal 60-day window for booking ADR. Tomorrow they will pass July 26… and so on.
For the first two months, the ADRs are already extremely limited for all seats (three times per night: 4 p.m., 6:15 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.).
When spot-checking availability just before noon EST on the day of the ADR drop, there is only a scatter of availability in July 2022 and nothing at all in June. Some of the dates that show as available actually have no places to select once you get to this step.
Speaking of which, above is the seating chart for Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. As you can see, there are three categories, the cost of which ranges from $39 to $44 for children and $66 to $74 for adults. Category 1 is obviously the best, but I prefer to sit in the front row of category 2 rather than the bottom of the ground floor. Category 3 may be fine, as long as you are not too close to the stage, as this can create a difficult viewing angle.
At this point, you’ll pretty much have to take what you can get, though.
Earlier this week, Walt Disney World also released transportation information for the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. None of this is really new – just a reminder that there is no direct road from your hotel to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. The easiest option is to drive your own car (this is the perfect use case for Minnie Vans, assuming they’re back by then), but you’ll need to park at the main entrance and take bus transportation to Pioneer Hall. Allow 30 minutes for this.
Alternatively, you can take a bus to Magic Kingdom and then a boat to Fort Wilderness. Allow up to 90 minutes for all of this from your hotel in Fort Wilderness. The best option is to do Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue during your Magic Kingdom day. The boat ride is a relaxing respite from the crowds and gives you the opportunity to see the sunset over Bay Lake, the electric water show, the evening lights of Magic Kingdom or whatever. it depends on the time you choose.
Ultimately, we’re thrilled to have Hoop-Dee-Doo back. It is a quintessential holiday experience in the Kingdom of the world that all Die-hard fan of Walt Disney World should do this at least once. While we wish he was back last October for the 50th anniversary debut, at this point we’re just glad he’s back at all.
Like everything else, this has implications for Walt Disney World’s return to normal. Again, it took longer than expected, but we’re optimistic that by late summer or early fall, parks and resorts will be pretty close to 100%. This also has indirect implications (at least we hope so), because the return of Hoop-Dee-Doo should mean Trail’s End can start serving a good buffet again. We are very ready for another dinner there, but refuse to support the current menu.
