Ravens Bengals SNF “Revenge SZN Starts Now” Live Blog

Do you all remember live blogging? What a time to live. Back in the day here at Barstool SPORTS dot com, each respective blogger would launch a “live blog” about half an hour before game time. The implication would be that the blog would be updated live throughout the game as interesting events happened. These updates were rare. The commentators never noticed (they always noticed).

They always started with a little blurb to get the boys and girls excited for the game. Here is this presentation text:

REVENGE SZN BABY. Last year the Bengals came to our barn in October and ran away with one in the 2nd half. There were a lot of defensive errors and Jamarr Chase had a day. At the time, the Ravens were battered by injuries, but not quite down. Everyone swore they would get their revenge in Cincinnati later in the season.

This does not happen. By the time that game happened, Lamar Jackson (along with Marlon Humphrey and others) was lost for the season. To make matters worse, Tyler Huntley got COVID that week, likely while playing video games with Marquise Brown (wait, wasn’t that information public? WHOOPS). That left us with Josh Johnson at QB, who had only been on the roster for 10 days.

Needless to say we got smoked. And the Bengals showed no mercy. Raised the score and all, which was their right. But they also booed and hollered like they waxed something other than a small town high school JV team.

This puts the Bengals at the top of the rematch list. The Ravens were a shell of themselves for most of last year’s season and nearly got in on the action. It’s a different team now. Ronnie Stanley is back and Lamar is playing at MVP level again. Humph and Marcus Peters are back to face one of football’s toughest WR groups. They will be ready.

And the boys are all black tonight. Clear eyes, all black, cannot lose. It is the currency of the Bank.

Ravens are rolling tonight and they are absolute hot just like 2019. Calling my shot now.

Ravens 34, Bengals 20

Now if you’ll excuse me I have to go watch football and definitely not update this blog because new blogs = pageviews and I have a place in the Top 20 ranking of the year so far to maintain (while doing full taxes- time, nbd) (hire me full-time)
