Walmart PS5 restock is imminent
Walmart+ members will be able to purchase the PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition from the US retailer in minutes. This PS5 restock is scheduled to start at 3 PM ET, so we’ll let you know early to give you time to log in and load the store pages below. Once this time limit is reached, you will have a small window to obtain a PS5.

PlayStation Direct Restock Now Live
The email links sent to access the latest PS5 restock on the PlayStation Direct store should now be live. If you received one recently, you should now be able to pass to join the queue. You can also follow the link below and login to your account to access it.
If it works the same as previous restocks, you’ll be held in a waiting room and then given a random place in the queue once it’s running – hopefully near the top !

Don’t forget your Walmart+ subscription
To access today’s PS5 restock at Walmart, you must be a Walmart+ member. It’s a clumsy and unfortunate restriction, but one the retailer has decided to implement in order to combat bots and scalpers who might otherwise grab consoles to resell.
The cheapest option is to sign up for a one-month subscription to Walmart+ for $12.95 and then cancel immediately after purchasing a console. Unfortunately, you can’t sign up for a free trial and access PS5 Restock – that’s for paying members only. If you keep your subscription after replenishment, you have access to benefits such as free delivery and reduced prices on fuel.
Will there be a general sale after Early Access?
During previous PS5 restocks at Walmart and PlayStation Direct, a number of consoles went on general sale after the early access window for Walmart+ members or those who received email invites. Is there a chance of that happening for today’s drop, then?
Well, that seems highly unlikely, to be honest. The PS5 always sells out in record time during restock events, so the likelihood of any left after a few minutes is very low. In our opinion, you need to be a Walmart+ member in order to enter the early access period for a chance to buy a console later today, or already have your email invite from Sony. .
Restock Alert: Walmart on January 13 from 3 p.m. ET
The first PS5 restock of 2022 at Walmart is scheduled to take place today starting at 3 p.m. ET. However, this latest batch of consoles will once again only be available to Walmart+ members. If you’re not already a member, you can sign up for Walmart+ for $12.95 per month.
It might seem like a steep price to pay when you’re not even guaranteed to get a console, but Walmart has been one of the best retailers to get a PS5 since introducing this requirement. Once signed up – or if you’re already a member – you can check out the console links below and hopefully walk away with a PS5 once the restocking begins.
We suggest you sort out your membership, open these pages or bookmark them, and log into your Walmart account well ahead of schedule. It’s always a chaotic experience once a PS5 restock goes live and the increased traffic over such a short period of time always slows sites down. Another potentially useful tip is to pay with PayPal, as this will save you from Walmart’s busy payment servers and reduce the risk of encountering errors during processing.

Restock Alert: PlayStation Direct on January 13 from 2 p.m. ET
PlayStation Direct will hold its next PS5 restock on January 13 at 2 p.m. ET for those who have already signed up and received an access email. This will include the link you need to follow once the latest wave of PS5 consoles become available for purchase from Sony’s official store.

If you have not signed up to receive stock notifications from Sony, you must first sign up on this page using your PSN account email. Doing this doesn’t guarantee you’ll be invited to buy a console, but at least it gives you a shot at getting your name in the hat.
So what’s going on today
January 13 will be a good day for PS5 restocks, as both PlayStation Direct and Walmart will have consoles available.
Let’s start with PlayStation Direct. Sony’s official store for selling PlayStation hardware, software and accessories will go live with a select number of PS5 consoles starting at 2 p.m. ET. However, this PS5 restock will not be available to everyone: you must have signed up using your PSN account and received an email invitation from Sony to access the restock. This email will contain a unique link to follow to purchase a console once restocking is live. Not registered? Do it now and you’ll be ready for the next one.
As for Walmart, its PS5 restocking takes place today starting at a slightly later time of 3 p.m. ET. Unfortunately, it’s another one that’s not open to everyone because you need to be a Walmart+ member to access it. If you are not already a member, it will cost you $12.95 per month. You must also be a paying member – free trial customers do not have access.
The year so far
Somewhat unexpectedly, 2022 has already been a busy year if you’re looking for a PS5 console. I hope you have already had success. Otherwise, we’re tracking all the top retailers and will do our best to bring you information on the next PS5 restock as soon as we hear anything.
So what has happened this year so far? Well, as of last Tuesday, we learned that a Target PS5 restock is coming soon. YouTuber Jake Randall has received reports showing hundreds of PS5 consoles in the stock database of various Target stores across the US, suggesting they will be available for purchase at some point over the next few days .
This information proved to be very accurate when, around 7 a.m. ET Thursday morning, Target dropped a selection of PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition consoles. A very small number of Xbox Series X consoles have also been added for good measure.
But that was not all. Just a day before, there was also a surprise restock at Best Buy. It was pretty small, but still a good chance of getting a console – especially since the retailer removed the requirement to be part of its Total Tech membership program.
We now know that Walmart, PlayStation Direct, and GameStop are set to get in on that early-year PS5 restock action, with consoles expected to be available today and tomorrow.
Welcome to our PS5 restock live blog
It’s your go-to destination for all the latest PS5 restock news in the US and UK. As we head into the new year, we thought this would be the quickest way to update you on PS5 restocks as soon as they go live to give you the best chance of getting a console.
The good news is that the situation is steadily improving as we enter 2022. There have already been two US declines at Best Buy and Target, with Walmart and PlayStation Direct expected to follow later today at from 2 p.m. ET.
Meanwhile, in the UK, a PS5 restock at Game over the Christmas period lasted at least a week. Outside of BT, it’s been pretty quiet at Blighty for the past two weeks, but consoles should be arriving at major retailers soon. We have an eye on Amazon, Argos and Game for the next restock.
Either way, consoles arrive more regularly and stay available longer. This bodes well for the future and is a promising sign for anyone who has struggled to get a console in the past 14 months.
