Showers will emerge when a cold front passes through Indiana, bringing in cooler, drier air.
INDIANAPOLIS – We are experiencing the hottest part of our day this morning with temperatures in the 40s as the rain continues. Showers will leave the state by mid-morning as a cold front moves and brings cooler, drier air back to central Indiana.
Take advantage of the short window of time after it rains and before temperatures drop to freezing point to put salt on your sidewalks and driveways. Temperatures drop near freezing around 2 p.m. and untreated roads, especially bridges and viaducts, will become slippery again.
Take all winter gear if you’re heading to Monument Circle tonight for Twenty One Pilots and Ava Max.
Temperatures continue to drop to the upper 20 degrees as the sun sets as the sky clears this evening.
We will mainly see clear skies during the night with a much colder return air. Lows fall in the mid teens with single digit wind chill values.
The cooler air mass continues for Monday with highs in the mid-1920s under a mixture of sun and cloud.
It will be bitter for the national college football championship game with temperatures in the teens at kickoff at 8pm.
