INDIANAPOLIS – A departing storm system will keep skies mostly cloudy around Saturday, especially for southeastern portions of Indiana. The sun took over the northeast with clear skies in the Indianapolis metro area.
We are also seeing sustained northeast winds at 15-20 mph and gusts of 25-30 mph.
The sky will continue to clear this afternoon from northeast to southwest. Temperatures in the northwestern part of the state will peak in the upper 60s where we will see more sunshine and in the low 60s in the southeast where clouds persist.
Skies will clear tonight as temperatures drop from the 60s to the 50s. Worthy of a jacket if you have plans tonight like Rev at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Skies continue to clear overnight with temperatures dropping into the upper 40s. Lots of sunshine returns for Mother’s Day Sunday with temperatures warming up to near 70.
We are heading for a much warmer period next week. Highs will be in the upper 70s on Monday then back to the mid 80s Tuesday through Friday.
Indiana also remains mostly dry with plenty of sunshine throughout the week. Our next storm system seems to be waiting next Saturday.
