Lego Masters Season 3 Episode 3 Recap [UPDATING LIVE BLOG]
Strength is the name of the game in this week’s challenge. Builders embrace the Wild West and their technical abilities by creating bull figures. The strength of the constructs is tested when the characters ride a mechanical bull with ten levels of intensity. The judges want to see characters that survive the bull and look good while getting rocked. The stakes are even higher with the Golden Brick granting immunity down the line, given to the team with the toughest, most compelling character in the all-new “Brickin’ Bull Ride Rodeo” episode of “Lego Masters. airs Wednesday, October 29. 5 (9:02-10:00 p.m. ET/PT) on Fox.

Below, follow our recap of Season 3, Episode 3 of “Lego Masters.”
9:02 p.m. — Previously on “Lego Masters”! In episode 2, Chris Pratt surprised builders for a 65 million year old “Jurassic World: Dominion” challenge. Mother/son duo Emily and Liam won with their “Mosasaurus Mayhem”, while the siblings Asiza and Eddie were eliminated for their “Roar” scene which failed to impress the judges. Who will be the next one ?
9:05 p.m. – Teams enter the build room, thrilled to see Will with a Wild West belt buckle made from Legos. He explains the “Brickin’ Bull Ride” challenge, commanded by Cédric le Taureau. He will battle their builds to see which can survive the longest. Will plans to increase Cedric’s Intensity one level at a time. The challenge isn’t just about strength, as Amy and Jamie will also judge them on their ability to build a compelling character.
9:10 p.m. — Brendan and Greg want to embrace the bull movement and absorb some of that intensity with joints. Dave and Emily thinks it’s best to do something light, expecting that less weight to struggle with will keep their character seated longer. Kerry and Patrick are determined to redeem themselves after landing in the bottom two last week. They are there to prove that they are not too old to compete.
9:15 p.m. — With only nine hours left in the challenge, Will rushes in with a few bags of gold he stole from the bank. Golden bricks to be exact! Yes, the gold brick is being reintroduced this season and the winner of this challenge will gain immunity for whatever challenge they choose to implement. Liz & Erin instantly say they want to be the first women to win the brick.
9:30 p.m. – Amy admits she’s nervous about Kerry and Patrick, while Jamie says he’s worried about Dave and Emily. Do these teams have the right center of gravity? We will find out soon enough. Time has expired and we’re about to see who has the best Lego jumper.
9:35 p.m. — The first runner is “Chabelita” from Christine & Michelle. It’s a Dia de Los Muertos theme and Chabelita is a colorful character that shows a bit of their culture. She is able to ride Cedric with her hair and limbs flying until she starts collapsing at level 7. Not bad! Amy loved the risque skeletal limbs that came to life as she turned. Next up is “Burton the Bow-Legged Bull-Riding Bullfrog” from Stephen and Stephen. They opted for a strong and stable core that they believe can last the entire duration. His arm drops to level 8 and eventually his whole body flies. Amy says the character was “fantastic” and they should be proud.
9:45 p.m. — Next comes “Billy the Squid” by austin and justin. They had to redo all the construction halfway through the challenge, so they’re nervous, but proud no matter what. Billy reaches level 8 (he’s a mighty squid!) and Jamie likes that it all came together in one piece. Next is “Bella the Ballerina” from Nick and Stacey. Bella heads to level 9, proving that ballerinas are not to be bothered. Then it’s time for “Rei-Dar” Jon & Xavier. He is an android who fell from space and landed in the Wild West. She’s on a mission to find the golden brick! She cracks at level 8 so it’s a mission failure for this android.
9:50 p.m. — So far it’s “Rootin’ Tootin’ Tootie” by Liz & Erin. She’s a retired cowgirl hoping to relive her glory days. Tootie reaches Intensity Level 7 before the Old Maid hits the ground. Amy loves the ruffles on Tootie’s shirt. Next is “Spaced Out Cowboy” by Kerry & Patrick. They’re convinced it’s sturdy, but unfortunately it can only hold a level 4. Amy calls it a “fun, colorful build,” but it’s too heavy. Jamie suspected there was too much weight for the Spaced Out Cowboy to bear. Next up is Dave & Emily’s “Toby the Pig,” which is perhaps the lightest of the bunch. It’s an ironic twist, considering he’s a pig. Toby only makes it to level 2, putting this sibling duo downstairs alongside the Grandpappies.
9:55 p.m. – “Kelsey the Cactapus Queen” is next from Brendan & Greg. They took a risk in their construction, letting the character move with the movement of the construction. Kelsey survived to level 6, which won’t earn them a gold brick, but at least they’re safe. “Jackalope Jill” is Emily & Liam’s next. She has two cute long ears, which could help or hinder her. Jill resists the bull’s bullet until level 10 before flying. This is the second week in a row that the mother/son duo is on top!
9:57 p.m. — The top two teams that had the perfect balance of strength and character are Emily & Liam and Stephen & Stephen, two teams that have won previous challenges. The winner of this week’s challenge and the golden brick is Emily & Liam.
10:00 p.m. — The last two teams this week are Dave & Emily and Kerry & Patrick. The eliminated team is Kerry & Patrick. Even though Dave and Emily’s pig spent less time on the bull, it was a better overall character build according to Amy and Jamie. The grandfathers leave with a full heart and “a life experience we will never forget”. BUT – before the credits roll, Will shocks the contestants by introducing a new team – Ethan & Dom, two teams that are “here to win this thing”.
