They’ve been friends ever since and thought it would be a great opportunity to show that firefighters aren’t just a bunch of macho guys sitting in the fire station. They are fun characters. Building something that represents firefighters is important to them, so they decided to go with a very iconic image in the form of a Maltese cross, which is found on the uniforms of all firefighters around the world.

9:12 p.m.Emily and Liam are the first mother/son duo to appear on the show. Liam has been playing with Legos since he was six and Emily is thrilled he chose to do this with her. Liz and Erin play the ukulele together, so these two friends make a red, white, and blue rockstar tour boat to represent Boston’s sports teams. Brendan and Greg are brothers who are competitive by nature. They are there for the trophy. Their ship will present themselves as brothers and teammates.

9:30 p.m. — Kerry and Patrick are building a space party in the form of a boom box. These grandpas aren’t afraid of the good weather. Over time, the teams begin to show a little stress. Amy and Jamie tour the room telling the teams they need to be mindful of how they showcase their builds and highlight their best features. With more than six hours remaining in the challenge, the NASA astronaut Jessica Meir arrived. She announces that the winner of this challenge will have their construction displayed at the Kennedy Space Center. What an incredible incentive!

Then, Will interrupts everything to welcome a visitor from space. Dr. Marshburn, who is actually on an ISS space station, says hello via satellite and says they’re excited to see what the Lego Masters are working on. He reminds everyone that they have five hours to complete their constructions.

Amy would have liked that they pivoted their idea earlier.

9:55 p.m. — Stephen & Stephen present their “LMFD (Lego Masters Fire Department)”. It’s an intergalactic fire station that not only protects the universe, but also lets firefighters have a great time on their break. Jamie says it’s one of the greatest models in the room and talks about their technical skills and willingness to take risks. Next, Austin and Justin unveil “Universal Healthcare”. It provides health care to all planets in the galaxy and is shaped like a doctor’s kit. Jamie calls it “convincing” but Amy can’t even tell it’s supposed to be a bag.
