FINAL SCORE: New Mexico State 45, Hawaii 26

LAS CRUCES, NM >> In a game between two former Western Athletic Conference football members, the University of Hawaii looks to maintain its dominance over the host state of New Mexico. The Rainbow Warriors have won all 10 encounters.

UH and NMSU were in the WAC until 2011. The following year, the Warriors joined the Mountain West Conference as a football-only member. The Aggies, who compete as independents, will become an all-sports member of Conference USA in July.

After opening with three straight losses, the Warriors beat Duquesne, 24-14, last week for Timmy Chang’s first win as head coach. Chang, a record quarterback for UH from 2000 to 2004, was hired in January.

The Warriors should extend their passing attack. Jordan Murray. who is 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds, should provide a tall and physical target in his tight-end-to-wide movement.

Brayden Schager, who started the opener against Vanderbilt, has recovered from an injury and is expected to take the first UH shot at quarterback.

The Aggies are 0-4, with two losses to the Minnesota and Wisconsin Big Ten. Jerry Kill had 23 years of experience as a head coach before joining NMSU this year.
