FTC Blog Appears to Expand the Reach of the Reporting Violations Act

These obligations appear to go beyond existing US and EU laws and potentially require companies to report violations that existing laws do not require reporting.

The FTC guidelines could represent a significant update to US breach reporting law, potentially bringing the US more closely into line with EU standards.
