Friday Blog: Let’s look at the chances of snow. -Doug
I hope you had a good week and that you are in good health. It seems like everyone has covid, flu, sinus stuff or stomach pain. So I hope you stay healthy. All right, let’s move on to Friday. Cloudy all day but temps still in the mid 50s.
As we work into the evening the rain will begin to increase. Especially after 9 p.m.
The snow really starts to kick in after midnight. It will be wet snow and the ground is warm and the temperatures will be near zero. So that means you have to go really hard to cause big problems on the roads. Bands of wet snow continue into the wee hours of the morning.
At the end of the morning, our last group will be in rotation.
Most of the light snow will start turning in the early evening. So here’s what I think.
I can’t wait to see the data from Friday noon as this storm gets very close. I think most KS and OK sides will be an inch or less. MO and AR 1-3″ but potential to go higher on the MO side but still stable for now. Much heavier snow once you work further east. The long term forecast is below.
-Doug
Jan 19-22: Cool all week. Chance of rain Wednesday and a little snow possible Thursday.
January 23-29: Cool for the first half of the week before we warm up on Thursday and Friday with a chance of rain. Colder on weekends.
January 30-February 5: Fresh the first half of the week but a mild second half of the week. Slight chance of rain Thursday and Saturday.
February 6-12: A fairly cool week with a chance of rain on Monday and a chance of snow on Tuesday. Thunderstorms and mild temperatures by the weekend.
