Capitals without Dmitry Orlov face lowly Flyers
The Washington Capitals have won three straight against teams that will be in the Eastern Conference playoff bracket in a few weeks. Now they will look to extend that streak against a less fortunate Philadelphia Flyers team.
The Caps will be without one of their best defensemen, Dmitry Orlov, because he has a lower body injury.
Every point is huge for the Capitals right now as they look to escape Wild Card second place and a near-certain matchup with the mighty Florida Panthers. They are still four points behind the Pittsburgh Penguins for third in the Metropolitan Division with two games in hand.
Tonight’s game is on ESPN+ so yet another game without Joe and Craig. Check out the clearance sale, which includes a Stanley Cup champions jersey for around $2.

Happy for the guy. It’s his first goal in three seasons.
Matt Irwin just scored his first NHL goal since the 2018-19 season.

Oh no another
Honestly, the most remarkable thing about that goal is how terrible it was from a Justin Schultz shot. It was like six feet wide!!!
