Capitals take on Leafs as Auston Matthews scores 60 goals

Since having a players-only meeting after back-to-back bombings against the Hurricanes and Wild, the Washington Capitals have won four straight and outscored the opposition 23-10. The streak includes wins over the Lightning, the Penguins and Bruins – all ahead of the East’s seeding picks (although a first-round clash with Florida remains unlikely).

Tonight, the Capitals get another big test at the Toronto Maple Leafs who recently clinched a playoff berth and already have 100 points this season. The Leafs sport the game’s leading scorer currently, Auston Matthews, who will be looking to become the first player in a decade to score 60 goals.

The Capitals will be WITH Evgeny Kuznetsov and WITHOUT Dmitry Orlov during the game after they missed morning practice.

Tonight’s game is back on NBC Sports Washington after four consecutive games on national television. Today’s Daily Deals are here for your budding Capitals collection.
