Capitals face Bruins a day after big win over Penguins

The Washington Capitals earned a thrilling 6-3 win over their biggest rival, the Pittsburgh Penguins, on Saturday. Now they’ll try to do it again a day later against the team that ousted them in last year’s playoffs, the Boston Bruins.

The Capitals will play without second-line center Nicklas Backstrom who is out due to [gestures at everything] “body maintenance” by the team.

Today’s game is big, big, big for both teams (see standings). Boston is fighting to stay out of the top wildcard position in the East, while the Capitals could draw within two points of the Pittsburgh Penguins for third place in the Metropolitan Division with a game in hand after today . Passing the Penguins would move the Capitals out of the wildcard second spot where they would likely face the Florida Panthers. So yes, do that. It would be good !

Today’s match is on TNT, so give yourself a few minutes of grace before the start of the game to find the channel. Here are today’s daily deals on Caps merchandising.
