BoardWalk Deli Menu and Food Photos

BoardWalk Deli is a reimagined restaurant coming soon to the EPCOT resort area at Walt Disney World. This article shares an overview of the menu at this Crescent Lake counter-service restaurant, as well as comments on how it should compare to its predecessor.

According to Walt Disney World, the new BoardWalk Deli will open at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn later in the summer of 2022. BoardWalk Deli will bring with it “classic flavors you can only get at a deli.”

This spot, formerly BoardWalk Bakery, is inspired by the delis of the Northeast region, with a menu that takes you on a road trip of classic sweet and savory flavors from New York to the Jersey Shore. BoardWalk Deli will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Delicatessen translates to “everything delicious,” and that’s exactly what visitors will discover. With that, let’s take a look at the BoardWalk Deli menu and see what dishes you can expect at this renowned restaurant…

Whether you’re heading out for a day in the parks or planning a cozy breakfast in your room, stop by the BoardWalk Deli to choose from homemade bagels with a choice of schmear, a variety of sweet breakfast pastries. lunch or a hot bagel sandwich.

Breakfast options include an Everything Bagel sandwich with eggs, sausage, and cage-free cheddar cheese. There’s also a Bagel Breakfast Sandwich with cage-free eggs, bacon, caramelized sweet onions and cheddar cheese. Finally, the Vegetable Ciabatta Sandwich with Florentine “egg”, vegetable cheese, tomato jam and arugula which offers an exciting contrast of flavors.

For lunch and dinner, there are multiple options that will transport you to the northeast. Choose from a variety of cold and hot sandwiches served on traditional marbled rye, fluffy ciabatta or springy focaccia breads. As with the breakfast bagels, all breads are baked on site.

The signature Italian sub is built with layers of thinly sliced capicola, sopressata and pepperoni with provolone, arugula, tomato, arugula pesto and mayonnaise on freshly baked ciabatta bread. The savory Warm Pastrami Reuben is a deli staple, with generous rolls of thinly sliced warm pastrami topped with sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and Thousand Island dressing on marbled rye bread.

For a plant-based spin on a classic favorite, the Veggie Crunch Muffaletta is stacked with dried and pickled root vegetables, olive-giardiniera tapenade and plant-based cheese, served over focaccia.

You can also opt for a roast chicken sandwich with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and roasted garlic aioli served on ciabatta or the grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup – a classic guest favorite .

To complete your meal, add a whole, homemade dill pickle with the perfect amount of crunch and spiciness. All of these mouth-watering sandwiches are served with homemade fries, creamy coleslaw or soup.

Desserts abound at BoardWalk Deli.

Cannolis are stuffed to order in a crispy shell with a creamy blend of mascarpone cheese, ricotta and dark chocolate shavings, with a hint of lemon zest and a touch of Mickey Mouse. The rich and delicate Blueberry Scone is made with fresh cream and topped with pearl sugar for a melt-in-your-mouth experience.

You can also get Northeastern classics like the New Jersey Crumb Cake, a moist cake with a thick cinnamon filling, or the iconic New York-style half-moon cookie topped with a rich chocolate ganache. and buttercream.

Baking enthusiasts will appreciate the delicate chocolate-covered cream puff, hand-dipped with silky pastry cream, and the raspberry danish topped with pastry cream, fresh raspberries and sugar crumble. Hot and gooey Cinnamon Yummies will be a favorite with guests. Finally, there are time-tested classics like Rich Cookies, Decadent Brownie Cheesecake, Brownies, Cookies & Cream Cupcake, and 50th Anniversary Celebration Cupcake.

As stated in our recent article: The Reinvention of BoardWalk Begins – Changes and Construction, work is already underway next door to turn ESPN Club into the Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers. This new restaurant and bakery with table service is expected to open in 2023.

The Cake Bake Shop restaurant will offer savory and dessert menus, as well as afternoon tea service, in a whimsical atmosphere that complements the magic of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn idyllic charm that guests know and love.

It will be interesting to see what Actually arrives with BoardWalk Bakery.

While Northeastern Delicatessen’s authentic concept sounds promising, part of it is likely a marketing gimmick. When it comes to new menus, Walt Disney World has a way of over-promising and under-delivering.

It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if it was less of a new restaurant and more of a slightly refreshed restaurant with a new name and different menu items.

While there’s still plenty to see, I guess none of this would be splashing without the location’s renaming to BoardWalk Deli. Without it, it would probably just be standard menu changes that happen all the time and are largely overlooked.

I really hope I’m wrong about this. Although several years ago there was a line of cupcakes and other baked goods among the stars, this hasn’t been the case for some time.

I once ate an amazingly good lobster roll at BoardWalk Bakery, but the sandwiches and other assorted dishes were never anything special. (I also like the Thanksgiving sandwich, but that’s not unique to this place.)

We’ve been saying for years that luxury hotels in the Crescent Lake area need better counter-service dining options.

The newly redone markets at the Yacht & Beach Club are improvements, but really only half measures. With BoardWalk Deli, a revamp on par with these marketplaces is the best-case scenario, and even that seems unlikely.

Ultimately, we hope for the best with BoardWalk Deli, but we tempered our expectations.

Since BoardWalk Bakery is currently still operational and based on the announced changes, it doesn’t look like it will have anything other than an altered menu and a new name. Considering the space constraints and layout alone, this is understandable to some degree.

Maybe it’s time for Disney to build BoardWalk, a dedicated counter-service restaurant somewhere else? It may seem like heresy to some longtime Walt Disney World fans, but Belle Vue Lounge has been underutilized for as long as we can remember. With so many other bars around BoardWalk, transforming this place might be a good move.

It’s not the only viable underutilized real estate along the BoardWalk, but with so many third-party operators in the mix, it’s hard to tell what Disney’s options are with other locations (given leases). Somehow, we hope better counter service options will come to Crescent Lake as part of BoardWalk’s reinvention. Hoping that includes this grocery store!
