In the spirit of a guy who hits the NFL for a living, the Bucs passed that offseason review.

CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin went through the list of 32 teams and gave a rating to how they fared last week. He says the Bucs have educated the rest of the NFL on how this week of free agency works.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: A

WR Chris Godwin (franchise tag)
Falcons WR Russell Gage (3 years, $30 million)
Patriots OG Shaq Mason (per trade)
C Ryan Jensen (3 years, $39 million)
CB Carlton Davis (3 years, $45 million)
Somehow, they not only brought Tom Brady back from retirement, but also found a way to keep his line anchor and best young cover man. Gage, meanwhile, is a sneaky good addition as a new wide No. 3 who should attract all sorts of targets.

Let’s not forget, the biggest blow was getting Tom Brady out of retirement. This triggered the domino effect. All of a sudden, the guys wanted to stay.

This includes Chris Godwin who signed a three-year contract late last night after Benjamin posted this article.

Yeah, Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht knocked them out of the park this week. And even more impact signatures could arrive. Lenny in the playoffs? Honey badger? Will Gholston? A surprise trade like Shaq Mason’s?

He certainly doesn’t feel like the Bucs are done yet.
